You will find different types of applications for undergraduate students* on this homepage and will select an application for one the following: Stony Brook's Summer Session/Winter Session, FLY program or ACE program. Login links at bottom.
*Do not complete this application if you are a graduate student (someone who has already completed a bachelor's degree), please complete the Non-matriculated Graduate Student Application.
Winter Session Application (Opens October 14, 2024 )
Instructions: Please review the Winter Session Calendar for registration dates and deadlines. Once the application is open, please allow 3 to 5 business days for processing to receive an email notification with a 9 digit Stony Brook ID number and instructions for registering in SOLAR.There is a non-refundable $25 application fee.
Do not complete this application if you are a:
- Previous visiting student (completed a summer or winter course at SBU before), please do not complete this application and send an email to wintersession@stonybrook.edu
- Current Stony Brook student, please do not complete this application and follow steps for current students
- Incoming Stony Brook student (admitted and coming to SBU for your first semester), please do not complete this application and follow steps for an incoming student
SBU Freshman Launch Year (FLY) Program
This application is not for visiting students. Please select this application only if you are interested in applying for the Freshman Launch Year (FLY) program. This program is specific for first-year students looking to attend Stony Brook University starting at one of the abroad programs in China, Korea or Italy for the first year of study. For questions, please contact flyiap@stonybrook.edu. There is a $50 application fee for the Fall 2024 FLY Program.
ACE High School Application (Opens September 3, 2024)
Please review information on our Accelerated College Education (ACE) website to see if your high school participates in Stony Brook’s ACE program. ACE Applications for Fall 2024 will OPEN September 3, 2024. Deadline to apply is Monday, October 28, 2024.
1) Everyone must create a new application each year, although you may use an email and password that you have used in the past.
2) Please make sure the name appearing on the application is the student's name and not another member of the household
3) If you wish to sign up for more than one course, please make your first selection and pay for that course. The application will then take you to a summary page when you can select your second course and make payment for that. Similarly for additional courses $300 per course.
