    As a Proud Seawolf Family Member, we know you play a vital role in your student's success and look forward to your partnership in the transition of your newest Seawolf to Stony Brook University.     Information Sessions

    Seawolf Information Sessions get you connected to a variety of campus offices, hear about the services they offer, and ask questions live. We highly encourage you to register for the sessions that interest you! Topics include:

    • Living on Campus*
    • Commuting to Campus*
    • Paying for College
    • Meal plans, Books & More!
    • Academic Support and Success
    • Build Experience at SBU and Beyond: Student Employment, Study Abroad, Research & More
    • Get Involved!

    *These sessions are specifically for supporters. Students are required to attend either Living on Campus or Commuting to Campus (based on their plans for housing) as part of New Student Orientation requirements. Please encourage your student to sign up through their StartSBU portal and attend a student session to complete this requirement.

    Seawolf Extended Connections

    By attending a Seawolf Extended Connection, new Seawolves can complete both Seawolf Connection and Seawolf Information Session (Commuting to Campus or Living on Campus) requirements in person. Seawolf Extended Connection is offered in person, and students can invite up to 2 family members/guests. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about the student experience from Peer Assistant Leaders, interact with campus departments, attend in-person Seawolf Information Sessions, tour the campus, and more!

    If you are interested in attending Seawolf Extended Connection in person, please have with your Seawolf sign up through their StartSBU portal and add guests.

    Let your student know to save the dates for their in-person, required programming which will be Monday, August 18, 2025 through Saturday, August 23, 2025.
