HOPE Program Application 2025

Thank you for your interest in the HOPE Program at Stony Brook!

HOPE is a free after-school program offered to students at Brentwood, Longwood, Wyandanch & William Floyd High Schools. The two-year program meets on Stony Brook's campus throughout the year. Your school district will provide transportation to and from Stony Brook University. As a member of the HOPE Program, you'll explore careers in healthcare and medicine through hands-on activities and presentations led by Stony Brook Medicine and Stony Brook University faculty, employees and students.

Qualifications:

Minimum 2.5 (75) GPA (Unweighted)
Demonstrated interest in healthcare/medicine career
Junior (11th grade) standing during the 2025-26 school year
Enrolled at Brentwood, Longwood, Wyandanch or William Floyd High School

Brentwood, Longwood & Wyandanch: A completed application plus two (2) completed recommendation forms must be submitted by 5 pm Friday, May 23, 2025.

William Floyd: A completed application plus two (2) completed recommendation forms must be submitted by 5 pm Friday, June 6, 2025.

Select students will then proceed to a virtual interview in July before decisions are made.

Recommendations

Two (2) recommendation forms must be submitted. The recommendation forms can be from teachers (preferably math and science), employers, coaches, mentors, etc.

Recommendations are due by 5 pm Friday, May 23, 2025.
